Teaser Tuesday #6: The Perfect Song (and a giveaway)

I'm in a melancholy mood today so I thought I'd share a song that is featured in THE SHADOW PRINCE that encapsulates how I feel.  In the book, Haden--who knows very little of music because it is forbidden in the Underrealm--gets goaded into performing a song in front of the entire town. Desperate not to fail, and looking for a way to get close to Daphne, Haden convinces her to perform a duet with him. Daphne suggests a song in this excerpt from THE SHADOW PRINCE:

"It's 'Falling Slowly' by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova--from one of my favorite movies. It's the first duet I thought of, but after looking at several others, I think it's the best option."
I read over the words. Imagining the lyrics with the notes evokes an uncertain, wanting ache inside my chest. "It's perfect."
"It's going to take a lot of practice," she says. "Are you up for spending that much time with me over the next couple of weeks?"
     "Yes," I say.
At this moment, there's nothing I want more.

Check out the song for yourself and see if it makes you feel the same way as it does Haden. Personally, I agree with him, it's perfect.

Now for the Teaser Tuesday Giveaway!

Today I am giving away a book by an author who is one of my all favorites (both because she's an amazing writer and a really inspiring person): Sara Zarr.  I've got a copy of her latest book, ROOMIES, that is signed by both Sara and her delightful co-author, Tara Altebrando, for a very lucky winner. Oh yeah, that song definitely evokes a sad sort of ache. In a good way. :)
